Concept
The concept of the "Moment" art exhibition is based on five interlinked components:
The basic focus of the concept is centred on the current individual works of four contemporary artists from three different continents.
Secondly, all the artists involved will create a specific personal work during the week that the new millennium is born.
Thirdly, all the four artists will collaborate on the creation of a joint work on the subject of the millennium.
Point four sees these three elements put together within the framework of a joint exhibition.
Finally, this exhibition will be presented to the public in the course of the year 2000 in three different locations that both span the globe while at the same time creating links.
Background
The point of departure for the "Moment" art exhibition was initially a purely personal assessment of artistic activity at the end of this millennium and the beginning of the next. By their very nature, assessments of this kind always include questions that themselves can trigger creative processes:
What moves me, what concerns me at this point in my life, hopes, fears, visions?
What is happening near at home, far away?
Do I expect something special of the year 2000, a new beginning, structure, clarity?
Are my works relevant in view of all the many years of human history?
How do people from different cultures experience this change of date?
What are the points of common contact, where are the differences?
Is there an ultimate linking "something"? If so, is it possible for this to be represented at the artistic level?
Is it possible to establish characteristic linking features in contemporary art?
Implementation
The above questions were the sparks that then ignited a desire to realise the "Moment" exhibition project. In collaboration with three other artists, the project increasingly began to take on concrete form. It gradually became evident that the linking factor, the common element was to find unmistakable expression in the exhibition despite all the linguistic and cultural differences.
Point 3, joint work
The joint work on which the four artists will collaborate is a block measuring approximately 3 m x 1 m x 0.4 m which encloses the empty silhouette of a human being. Each of the four artists will record approximately four minutes of commentary on tape in their own language. This tape will then be activated by a sensor that reacts to visitors when they approach the work.
Point 4, exhibition objective
Visitors to the "Moment" exhibition will have the opportunity of experiencing contem- porary art from three different continents at one and the same exhibition and of seeing and comparing the links between various artists in their approach to one concrete subject (the new millennium) as depicted in the form of one artistic work.

Point 2, personal work, C.P. Labusch
The basic focus of the personal work from C.P. Labusch is a performance together with three musicians during the night that the new millennium is born. During the performance 3 different works will be realised by "shooting" a steel ball on a steel base (see picture). The first work will be realised at 23.54 h in the jear 1999, the second exactly at 0.00 h, and the third at 0.04 h in the jear 2000.
